Extra information

Blackjack is a very popular and classic casino table game. It has been played for ages and offers good winning percentages, if you know how to play the game. The goal of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible with a combination of cards in your hands. You have to get closer to this number than the dealer. If you get a total that is above 21, you lose. This makes it important that you know when you should split, double down or take a hit.

Splitting is possible when the first two cards received are of the same value. You should never split when you have 10-value cards, such as tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings. You should split pairs of aces and eights, twos, threes, sixes and sevens, and nines only if the dealer has a six or lower.

You can also double down. This means that you double your bet and will only get one more card from the dealer. You should double down when you have a total of ten, but not if the dealer has a ten or an ace. You can also double down with a total of eleven, but not if the dealer has an ace. Never double down with a total below ten.

You should take a hit (get an extra card) when you have a total of eleven or less. If you have a total between twelve and sixteen, only take a hit when the dealer`s card is a seven or higher. Do not take any more hits with a hard hand of seventeen or higher, however, with a soft seventeen or less always take a hit. Only take a hit with a soft eighteen when the dealer has a six or less. Never take a hit with a soft nineteen.
